A Clean Healthy Colon Is The Most Important Thing!

green vegetablesWhen we have a healthy colon we can avoid cancer, irritable bowel syndrome and ailments such as ulcers, constipation, bloating, gas, abdominal pain and other related diseases.

Hundreds of scientific studies have been done on how to achieve a healthy colon in the last 25 years.

Experts agree that colon cancer could almost be eliminated if we added more fiber to our diet.

There is no need for more studies and no need for more findings. We already know what to do. More fiber and cleaner, healthier food!

If you are sick, there is a high chance that you have an unhealthy bowel.

If you are tired, there is a high chance that your bowel is full of toxins.

Are you beginning to see the pattern here? ;-)

The reason the colon is so important is because it is where our body gets vitamins, minerals, salt, water and other vital nutrients.

When our colon becomes sick or even a little bit sluggish it will start to wear on your body. Because you now have a compromised intake system. Your body is getting less vital nutrients!

Many of today’s problems start in the bowel. Colon cancer is the third most common form of cancer in the world, and the second largest killer in the west!

When you eat processed, sugary and fatty foods your colon is taxed to its limit.

It has to work incredibly hard to remove all the toxins that these foods have. And at some point it cannot do it anymore. That is why we today see so many colon problems.

There are many steps you can take to maintain a healthy colon. The most obvious and also the most annoying step to implement, is to start eating healthier and cleaner food.

At some point in your life you have to minimize the amount of unhealthy stuff you put in your mouth.

Here are some methods of maintaing a healthy colon...

  • Water Fasting
  • Juice Fasting
  • Herbal Cleanse Programs
  • Colon Hydrotherapy
  • Enemas
  • More Fruits!
  • More Vegetables!
  • More Fiber! :)
  • Taking Probiotics

It all seems so overwhelming, doesn't it? I know first hand that changing your diet is hard. You have to leave old habits behind and embrace new ones.

Here is a sample of what I might eat in a day and some excellent foods for colon health ...

Breakfast - Oatmeal:

  • Big bowl of oatmeal
  • A few oranges
  • A few bananas

Lunch - A Smoothie:

  • 5-10 Bananas,
  • Water/rice milk/oat milk
  • Something green like spinach or romaine lettuce (you can't even taste it!)
  • If I crave more fruit I might add anything at hand (orange, kiwi, grape etc).

Dinner - Fish:

  • Salmon
  • Potatoes
  • Vegetables

Late Night Snack - Dark Rye Bread:

  • Rye Bread
  • Homemade Hummus
  • Bell Peppers
  • Cucumber

That's what a day in my life might look like. This is just an example of how you could go about it. We are all different and you will most likely develop an entirely different routine than I.

The main ingredients have to be in there though...

  • Fruits
  • Vegetables
  • Fiber
  • No Junk!

The state of your colon will affect your life in a big way. You don't notice it until your stomach starts objecting or your doctor finds something odd during a colon exam.

I know! I've been there and I do not want to go back ;-)
