question markSo, what is psyllium husk? You can find it in your breakfast cereal, health food store and in the majority of colon cleansing products.

Psyllium or Ispaghula is a plant with the genus Plantago. It is a genus of around 200 species of small plants commonly called plantains.

Psyllium is a plant that is native to India and Iran. The stalks contain small seeds, and these seeds are called psyllium.

The seeds are covered by husks, and it is this part that is used in our foods today. Here are a few examples of where and how psyllium is used:
