The Lemon Detox Diet

The lemon detox diet (also known as the master cleanse diet) is a popular cleanse that not only improves the function of your colon but your whole body.

The ingredients are:

  • Pure Water
  • Organic Maple Syrup (Grade B)
  • Organic Cayenne Pepper
  • Organic Lemons (Freshly Squeezed/Juiced)

And you can also add in unrefined sea salt, laxative tea for laxative purposes (obviously). There's also a good eBook out on how to do the master cleanse properly. It's written by Raylen Sterling, I recommend you check it out.

Back to the point though! The lemon detox diet consists of you drinking the concoction above 6-12 times every day. No solid foods or anything else can be eaten during your lemonade fast, but you can drink as much pure water as you want!

The diet should be done for at least 10 days to see beneficial effects. I highly recommend that you also check out the original book The Master Cleanser by Stanley Burroughs, the man who invented the whole thing.

 

Detox Symptoms You May Experience

When your body is in cleaning mode you might experience some detoxification symptoms. This is entirely normal and once your body is done you'll feel much better.

This is why I enjoy detoxification, whenever I am on a cleanse and start feeling tired, irritable, aches or something along those lines, I just enjoy it because I know it will pass and I'll feel a lot better.

Usually detox symptoms don't last more than one day, when you wake up the next morning it will most likely be gone.

When you don't resist the detoxification it usually goes away faster as well. It's fascinating how much your mind can influence your body!

One of the most common symptoms I experience are cravings for particular foods, especially stuff like pizza, hamburgers, creamy pasta, coca cola and other foods that are not good for me at all.

Another big one for me is the need to eat, after awhile I just want to chew on something or have the taste of food in my mount. It always forces me to realize how addicted to food I am.

Other detox symptoms that you can experience on the lemon detox diet that I haven't experienced full on yet are:

  • Aches
  • Hyperactivity
  • Nausea
  • Pains
  • Strange thoughts
  • Tiredness
  • Vomiting
  • Weird bowel movements

Some of these symptoms are very severe and only happen in the rarest of cases (from my experience researching) and they seem to pass very quickly. If you're unsure and some of your symptoms go on for many days and you start to feel very weak I recommend that you contact someone who knows how to handle it.

This is why I recommend that you prepare as much as you can by reading Raylen's book and The Master Cleanser.
