Constipation Relief: How to Relieve Constipation

advertisement

Relief comes easy when you know how to relieve constipation. Are you suffering from the following symptoms?

  • Excessive strain when on the toilet
  • Abdominal cramps
  • Nausea
  • Unexplained weight gain
  • Chest pains
  • Bloating

There are a lot of reasons why you can get constipated, some of them are:

  • Poor diet
  • Bad habits
  • Fecal impaction
  • Bad use of laxatives
  • Hormonal disorders
  • Use of Painkillers
  • Anti-depressants

Now I'm going to teach you how to relieve constipation!

Immediate Relief for Constipation

Constipation can be very uncomfortable, and it can make daily life more stressful than it should be.

Here are some helpful tips on what you can do:

  • Drink lots of water or freshly squeezed juice
  • Eat a lot of fruit (Bananas are yummy!)
  • Have an enema or a colon hydrotherapy
  • Eat oatmeal
  • Exercise - Swim, Walk, Stretch, Lift!
  • Take psyllium husk
  • Try these colon cleanse recipes

I guarantee that if you follow all those steps and eat lots of fruit, some oatmeal, exercise, take psyllium and drink fresh juice for a few days the problem will be solved!

Prevention

It's always nice if you can prevent constipation before it happens, and if my above tips worked (and they should have!), it is now time for you to think ahead, and not get constipated again.

Here's a brief list and a summary of the above:

  1. Eat a Healthy Diet
Eat more fruits,  leafy vegetables, whole grains, peanuts and avoid anything processed, sugary, junky, you know the list :).

  2. Water & Juices
Drink at least 2 litres a day, that translates to about 67 oz. It can seem like a lot, but your body needs it, and if you have a juicer, squeeze those fruits and vegetables and drink, it's delicious!

  3. Exercise
Develop a habit of exercising daily, start by exercising a few times a week and slowly progress to 5-7 times/week. I know from personal experience that jumping into something intense and doing it everyday can be a path to injuries, so don't do it!

  4. Practice Good Toilet Habits
When you get the urge to go, you go! Sometimes when we hold it in, our body can get the wrong signals.

  5. Cleanse
Enemas, hydrotherapy or herbal supplements (check out my best colon cleanse reviews), it's your choice and they are good to do a few times a year to keep your colon healthy and clean.

Acute!

Acute constipation must be diagnosed by a doctor, because it can be dangerous and lead to more serious conditions.

Here are some things doctors may go through to help you:

  1. Review of your medical history to determine habits, diet, and illness or ailments detected in the past.

  2. Physical examination that could include a variety of tests.

  3. Barium enema, which is used to check the rectum and colon for any obstructions.

  4. Sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy, a tube that goes up your rectum and into your colon, colonscopy usually uses a camera to look inside your colon to see if something is wrong.

  5. Colorectal transit study can be used to see how well food passes through your colon.
