Symptoms of Advanced Colon Cancer

Symptoms of advanced colon cancer can sometimes come suddenly. Colorectal cancer can grow without us even noticing it. It can go on for several years without any severe symptoms whatsoever.

Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the U.S, not counting skin cancers.

If someone doesn't know they have colon cancer it can be hard to detect until it has progressed to the latter stages of the disease.

Some people might not notice anything at all. There have been reports of people who have gone to the ER because they had the stomach flu and found out that they had advanced colon cancer.

And some people just ignore the symptoms and think they are normal. If you start experiencing weird stomach problems such as pains and a lot of gas for long periods of time, do not hesitate to look it up.

Most try to avoid going to the doctor because it can be embarrassing, if you suspect that something is wrong, go right away! It is better that you go and find out that it is nothing at all, rather than discover that it was serious a few years later.

Some symptoms that indicate that you have cancer are:

• Blood in the stool
• Excessive gas
• Extreme fatigue
• Flat stools
• Pencil stools
• Ribbon stools
• Severe cramps
• Stomach pains

It is hard to pinpoint exact cancer symptoms because they can easily be mistaken for other ailments.

The only thing you should think about is that if you start experiencing something out of the ordinary and it goes on for a prolonged period of time, you should see a doctor and get a colonoscopy or a related exam.
