Is the Psyllium Seed Dangerous?

So, is the psyllium seed dangerous?

Psyllium seed husk has been used as a fiber supplement for centuries.

It has been used successfully to treat constipation.

And in later years it has been shown to help in lowering blood pressure, colon cancer and heart disease.

On the other hand there have been rare cases of where psyllium husk fiber has caused trouble.

These are very rare, but you should still be cautious and see how your body reacts.

A few such examples are:

  • Anaphylaxis
  • Trouble breathing
  • Skin hives
  • May slow down absorption of nutrients (if used for a long time)

You can find more side-effects in my article 9 Psyllium Husk Side Effects.

In general it is safe to take, but you have to pay attention to your own body. Start with a small dose and see how you feel.

I wouldn't advise that you take a large dose right away and "see what happens". It is much safer to start with even 1/5th of the recommended dose.

My own experience has been positive with psyllium; the worst side-effect I've experienced (as I've mentioned in my other articles) is mild light-headedness.

In summary, if you've heard good things about this soluble fiber supplement then by all means, go ahead and try it. Start with a low dose and if you feel anything odd, contact a professional and consult with them.

You may also want to try a colon cleanse, since it works on a holistic level to help you improve your health, eliminate constipation, and other problems.

One of the best ways to keep your body clean, healthy, and functioning properly is to do a colon cleanse.

DrFlorasColon cleanses can be done by just eating a strict healthy diet, or going on a juice fast.

You can also buy a professionally formulated herbal colon cleanse, which has been formulated to effectively and safely eliminate constipation, toxins, and clean your body..

I've done a lot of research on the best colon cleansers, and I have to say, there are a lot of bad ones out there. The one I think is best - and that I recommend - is DrFloras colon cleanse.

They even offer a long money-back guarantee in case it doesn't work for you.

I'm very careful with what I recommend. I only recommend products that are 100% natural, safe, and effective, which is why I really like DrFloras.

Keep that bowel moving!
