I wouldn't advise that you take a large dose right away and "see what happens". It is much safer to start with even 1/5th of the recommended dose. My own experience has been positive with psyllium; the worst side-effect I've experienced (as I've mentioned in my other articles) is mild light-headedness. In summary, if you've heard good things about this soluble fiber supplement then by all means, go ahead and try it. Start with a low dose and if you feel anything odd, contact a professional and consult with them.
